Ambassador of Norway visited the RGA’s Archive
Tanjug had reported on the visit of the Ambassador of Norway Mr. Arne Sannes Bjørnstad to the Archive of the Republic Geodetic Authority. The Ambassador had announced the assistance of approximately EUR 1 million.
The Ambassador of Norway to Serbia Mr. Arne Sannes Bjørnstad had visited the Archive of the Republic Geodetic Authority (RGA) today and announced a new assistance of approximately one million Euros for development of software to provide the citizens and the businesses to obtain a portion of services electronically, without the need of visiting an office.
The Norway had provided financial assistance to the RGA under the donors projects so far, towards establishing a transparent and efficient Real Estate Cadastre. In his statement for the media, after speaking with the management and visiting the Archive, the Ambassador said that it is a pleasure to work with the RGA and assist in the efficient Real Estate Cadastre establishment project, which would promote the economic development of Serbia.
“It is important for the citizens, as well as for the investors seeking to invest in your country and build factories. It is also important for us, because our goal is to assist you,” Bjørnstad said.
As he noted, some technologies for that purpose are already developed in Norway, and it would be beneficial to implement them in Serbia. He said that the cooperation would proceed under another project, with the value of approximately one million Euros. “Everyone would benefit from this important investment in the e-government in Serbia,” Bjørnstad noted.
Mr. Bjørnstad was hosted by the Director of the RGA Borko Draskovic and the Head of the Archive Danilo Radunovic, who had thanked him for the support provided by his government. The video was also shown to introduce the Ambassador with the success achieved under the previous “Real Estate Management Project in Serbia.”
Norway continuously supports the RGA’s development through the donors projects, and the new one would support the development of several software solutions, for the RGA to offer more services online to the citizens and the businesses, without the need to visit an office, in line with the Strategy of Economic Development.
The Project should support the development of geoportals for the Real Estate Cadastre and the National Spatial Data Infrastructure, provide for the Address Registry improvement, the development of the Spatial Planning Units Register, and the Condominium Register. The Digital Archive of the Republic Geodetic Authority was partially developed from the donors projects funds, implemented through cooperation with the Norwegian Cadastral Agency Kartverket.
Under the new project phase, the development of the software was planned to facilitate the access to the archive documents by the cadastral officers while resolving the requests submitted by the citizens, thus accelerating the procedure of passing the resolution upon a request.
Through this Project, the RGA also intends to master microfilming technology, which would provide for permanent keeping of the archive documents, some of which are over 100 years old.
