The Address Register contains data on street names and house numbers by populated areas for the territory of the Republic of Serbia and is one of the key state registers. Regulated by the Law on the Administrative Units Register and the Address Register (Official Gazette of the RS No. 9 of February 4th, 2020). Data from the Address Register are public and part of the National Spatial Data Infrastructure.
The data of the Address Register are managed and maintained in the central database of the Address Register. The Address Register contains data on streets, squares, hamlets and house numbers. House numbers are determined for residential and commercial buildings, including temporary facilities, as well as construction parcels that are planned for development in the urban plan.
Thanks to new and innovative technologies, the data of the Address Register is available on the digital platform GeoSrbija and is updated weekly.
Governmental bodies and organizations, organizations of territorial autonomy and local government units, public enterprises, as well as other entities entrusted with the exercise of public powers and duties are obligated to use the data of the Address Register in the performance of their duties.
In accordance with the Law on Electronic Government, data from the Address Register are available on the Open Data Portal of the Republic of Serbia, where two sets of geospatial data are available for download, the street code list and the house number code list.
