Register of Issued Consents for Cartographic Publications


Based on the provisions of Article 181, paragraph 2, point 13) of the Law on State Survey and Cadastre ("Official Gazette RS", no. 72/09, 18/10, 65/13, 15/15 - CC decision, 96/15, 47/17 - authentic interpretation, 113/17 - other law, 27/18 - other law, 41/2018 - other law and 9/2020 - other law) and the Rulebook on Issuing Cartographic Publications ("Official Gazette RS ", No. 38 of May 18th, 2018), the Republic Geodetic Authority issues a decision on granting consent for the publication and circulation of cartographic publications and publications with cartographic content.

Cartographic publications are: basic state map, digital orthophoto, digital terrain model, aerial imagery, geographical, topographical, overview, thematic, mute and other maps, plans of the territory of the Republic of Serbia or part thereof, topographical plans and sketches, atlases, globes, exercise books, albums and catalogs of maps of all types and editions, overview sheets of maps and plans, digital data and spatial databases and other publications with cartographic content produced in the manner and under the conditions of the Rulebook on Issuing Cartographic Publications. Cartographic publications that do not contain mathematical elements (scale, projection, coordinates, resolution, etc.), with the exception of cartographic publications that contain a representation of state borders, are not considered cartographic publications.

The condition for issuing and putting into circulation cartographic publications and publications with cartographic content is obtaining the consent of the Republic Geodetic Authority. To obtain consent, it is necessary to submit a request that can be downloaded from the website of the Republic Geodetic Authority. The request should be supplemented by: a model of the cartographic publication, the main design or cartographic elaborate if it is the first edition, proof of the professional training of the editor, as well as the person who gave the professional opinion and proof of the method of acquiring cartographic sources. For cartographic publications issued abroad, the cartographic publication as well as proof of the number of imported copies must be attached.

The cartographic publication is produced on the basis of the main design, in accordance with the provisions of the Law on State Survey and Cadastre, and on the basis of the cartographic study. The cartographic study, on the basis of which a cartographic publication is prepared, contains as mandatory the elements prescribed by the provisions of Article 5 of the Rulebook on Issuing Cartographic Publications. The cartographic publication put into circulation must be identical to the cartographic publication approved by the Republic Geodetic Authority. For each new edition of a cartographic publication, that is, a reprint of a cartographic publication, the consent of the Republic Geodetic Authority shall be obtained.

Covering the issued consents, adopted in accordance with the provisions of Article 11, paragraph 2 of the Rulebook on Issuing Cartographic Publications, the Republic Geodetic Institute maintains a register of issued consents for cartographic publications, on an annual basis, which is publicly available on the website of the Republic Geodetic Authority.
