ADMINISTRATIVE UNITS REGISTER


The Administrative Units Register is a public record that contains alphanumeric and geospatial data on administrative units. The data of the Administrative Units Register are used for the purposes of recording, collecting, exchanging, connecting and processing various types of spatial, statistical and other data.

Administrative units that are kept in the Administrative Units Register are: Republic of Serbia, autonomous province, administrative district, then the city of Belgrade, city and municipality (units of local government), city municipality, cadastral county, cadastral municipality, settlement, local community, statistical circle, census circle, as well as spatial units defined by the nomenclature of statistical territorial units (NUTS): Serbia-North and Serbia-South (NUTS1), regions (NUTS2) and areas (NUTS3).

Basic data for each administrative unit are: type of administrative unit, name (except for statistical and census circle), registration number/code, data on the administrative unit with which it is hierarchically connected and spatial data (borders, i.e. polygon).
